Good and bad poitns

If i need to think how this year has been, the only thing that I can see is me running  everywhere, all the time. Always with almost no time. Why? Because I’m silly and I take and take to do more things that I can do.

The summer was lovely. I was traveling faround South America, I met people, I visited differents places and countries, I had a life. And I dont now why but, generally, when I return to Chile I started to do a lot of things as if I had never been gone. This year, finally, it is my last year at the University. This is why,  I´ve taken many courses, I started to do my thesis, my memory, my internship. At the same time I work in a restaurant about four or five days a week. For all that, I think that the only low point  this year has been that I dont have time. Is really difficult to have a life, to see your friends, have a nice lunch with my family because I’m doing things all the time. So much so, I had to buy a diary to organize my life.

But the high poitns always are more: this year I was in Buenos Aires seeing Boca Juniors playing against Racing. This year became, for the first time, an aunt. Never before I had a baby in my arms. This year I learn to really enjoy living alone, to have my house, to have my projects in my limited time. And the best is that I can be tired and feel pitiful because  I´ve little  little free time  but when I think that this year I will finally finish my college process… its all worth it.

A piece of news

I remember really well when Pinochet died. That day I was at my boss´s house because the night before we had worked on an event until late. When I woke up and we turned the television I saw the news. In that moment I took my things, left and went to my cousin´s house in Providencia, I was living with her for a month.

The city was empty near her neighborhood because a lot of people was at the Military Hospital. I decided that my first stop had to be there. When I arrived it was a bit weird for me. I wasn't with “my people”, I wasn't crying or thinking why he died or about the good person he was in his life because that thoughts don’t exist in my mind (luckily)

I remember that people there, were really aggressive, uncontrolled and I was afraid of them. I wasn't there long  and after I took a bus and went to the place where I really wanted to be: Plaza Italia.
All the people there were happy, really really happy. It was a street party, a carnival. And there were my people, my friends, my teachers, my world.
Was the first, and I think, the only time that I saw many people on the streets and almost no police. I was there many hours laughing, singing, and dancing all together as if we were friends. Was the best popular party I've been to in my life, for sure.

My future job

Sometimes, I really don’t know what I want to do in my future. I´m sure that I don’t want the typical life or the typical job, is not for me I think. Is not my dream to have the good car or the biggest house and, for the same, I don't want the best job in the world winning a lot of money but with almost nothing of time for me. The only think that I want is building my own company, my own business with time for me, being my own boss and making my ideas.

But, if one day I really need a formal job I hope that will be in something that I believe. For me could be the best job do something while I´m travelling. Could we lovely write chronicles about cities, people and realities. I don’t want work always in the same city, in the same job, with the same people. I think that for me is necessary always to have changes. Maybe, one day, I decide remain in the same country for years, but in this moment the only think that I want is movement. Because, I have the idea that the only way for be a really good journalist is seeing different things  in different places for after have a real idea about what is happened in other parts of the world.

A book you like

I've always liked to read. I remember that the first book that I read in my life was about a fox. That day I had been almost all afternoon in the living room reading through a glass. How this? Well, when I was child my mom had a table with a glass and when I wanted read, I put the book open on top of the surface and after I settled down the glass for see the pages and read. It was very stupid indeed but at time I realized how much I enjoy reading.

Could be really typical but my favorite book is “The Little Prince”. The first time I read that book was when I was about ten years. I am not sure how I got my first copy. I have the idea that my grandmother gave me the book one day but probably, sometime at  school some teacher gave us the book to read.

Today, I think that I have maybe five copies of the book, is like my small collection and I thing that I like so much because every time I read is different. For me is like dream: I start reading, I can imagine other time, other world. I can remember and may is a cliche, the things that are really important for me.

The best Holidays

The best holiday I ever had was when I was 14 years old. My family and I went to Lake Vichuquén . It was the best summer because it was the only time we have been together in one place for a holiday.

I remember we were “the poor people”, we didn´t have boats, jet skies or anything like that. We were happy just cooking and eating all together. My cousins and I played all day at the lake, we played with the small waves that people made with their boats.

In the afternoon almost everyday, was tv time. Children and adults would get together on the bed to watch the only channel that had reception. At six pm the Show “Rojo: Fama contra Fama” started, it was the first season and we all wanted to watch.

We waited until the show ended to go down stairs and grab something to eat or play cards. I think we did the same thing everyday for a month but it was never boring. And we are waiting to do it again next year.

The Boys Are Back

I Think that my favorite hobby is see movies. Always I’m searching the premieres or different references about what is the new or what is good. For the same, I think that I’ve seen a lot of movies in my life. But, I have one that I see every year and never is enough. The name is: The boys are back and is a true story.

The movie tells the history of Joe Warr. He is a sports writer and becomes a single parent when he loses his second wife for cancer. He is from England but he moved years ago to Australia to follow Katy, the second wife. When she passes away, he need reset his life and learn how be a good father of Archie, her youngest child.  And… in the same time his first son called Harry, who lives in London with his mother, decide cross to the other continent for really meet and be with Joe and Harry. They are the family now.

I like this movie for a lot of reasons. One of them is because I really like see how he becomes a single father of two children. A lot of time, for me is, really difficult imagine a man being a single father. I have the idea in my mind that the mother is the person that always is there, but in this case is different and is lovely.

A country I´d like to visit

I have been lucky to travel a lot in my life. I went to Japan when I was a child. After, when I was around fifteen I went to Europe for the first time and when I had almost twenty-two I returned to the old world with idea to live there for one year...

I don't remember when or in what moment I decided that the thing that I really wanted to do was travel. And I started doing it in that time, in 2010. I was one tear traveling for almost all Europe. I have been in the north with the cold and the snow, I was in the east touring different cities like Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey.

Last year I decided that it's ok. A lot of people always says that is very important go to Europe but now for me is really important to meet my continent. Which is the history of Latin America? How live people here, in my own land? In the same way, I have been lucky now to visit almost all countries in South America but...

A country that I would like to visit now is Suriname and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. And why? Because I have no idea of how is people there, where they go, how they live. I don't know how the country is, what things do they have, what is their history. I know nothing about them and that's the reason I want to go to those countries.

Home

I leaved my home in 2006 a little bit before that finished the school. First, I went to live with my cousin for almost one month and after, I went to live with a friend from work. But the reality arrived when I took my things and I went to live to Valparaiso.

I remember that the first month I lived in a hostel really weird. I shared my room with other woman. In that time she was almost 40 years and she was working in a restaurant or something like that. Was fine but the problems started with her the day that I received my first visited and never stopped again.

After that until now I have lived in more than 10 places counting Valparaíso, Santiago and few cities in Europe. In a moment I decided that I had lived with many people for too much time and I looked an apartment for finally live alone.

My home now is in Bellas Artes, near the park. My room, my living-room and all is in the same room, but I don’t care. I have my orchard in the window, always comes the sun and if I want, I never be alone because I have very good neighbors.

Pijama Surf

Almost every day I like see a web site that’s the name is Pijama Surf (http://pijamasurf.com/) and have alternative information. And really, I´m not sure if is a web site concerning journalism but always I can find reports or others approach about a lot of really interesting things.

There you can find topics about: Culture, Politics, Health, Society, Entertainment, Sport, Economy, Nature, Books, Music, Theater and more, much more. And the web is really complete because is possible see the material in different platforms. For example, you can download podcast about evolutionary citizenship or pictures, never seen before, of bunker where Adolf Hitler commits suicide.

I think that the things that I most like of the web site are the variety and the issues that they develop with a free and original seal. One day you can find a video in three minutes about the evolution in special effects in the films in the last 136 years or read about the 10 amazing properties of marijuana found checked by the area of health.

The website was created in Mexico and in its manifest of values they say that they have the idea that reality is a collective construction and they proposed other different views but not for that the only truth. And in the end they say that they invite everyone to question what they read.

About speech given by the Nigerian writer Chimmanda Adichie.

I think that the more important thing that Chimmanda Adichie, Nigerian writer, says  in her speech called “The dangers of a single story” is the idea that when you only see, listen or read  one side story, only one vision of something, probably you never know the real story. And sometimes it´s the same in the news in Chile because only a few people have all the control over news and over the things that we can see in the television. For example,  the news in Chile, in general for me, is like that “single history”, the dangers of a single story that Adichie spoke about in her speech. And the worst, is almost always they want to show us the bad side of the all stories. They show the pain, the misery, the dead. I think that in all my life I never saw a News´s program presenting only good things, with different edges of the same topic. We, like journalists, must be aware that there is always more than one story in all the things.

My favorite photograph.

My favorite picture it’s on my pedestal table.  It shows my grandmother and me. My grandmother was the best person I’ve ever met. She never judged me, I was always able to talk to her about everything, about all the things I needed and I wanted. She changed everything and she always tried to understand me.
She was older, way older, but despite that she always tried to understand everything I said. Perhaps she didn’t agree with everything and sometimes she even reprimanded me but I always knew I could count on her.
If it wasn’t outspoken, it was her silence or the way she touch my hair that made me feel that everything would be ok.
That is why that is my favorite photograph. And my mom taked in 2005 when I was returned from a trip.

The best tools in Internet

I think that I´m not a fan of technology because for a strange reason is really difficult for me used it. I always broke or lost my mobile phone, I don’t know how but I´m amazing for put virus in my computer and all time I´m doing things like that. For the same reason, almost the only thing that I know how do perfectly with the technology is download movies and music from internet.

My favorite page is one that the name is “thepiratebay”. I can usually find the movies that I want and in a very good resolution. For download music I use the same page or, sometimes, I use other that the name is “filestube”. For my those are the best tools that I ever found in internet because is really simple found and download the thinks that I want.

I don’t remember really well when was that I found that page but I think that I’m using it since eight years ago. And I use the page all weeks, sometimes more than one time at day. And for me is wonderful because I love see movies but I can’t spend all my salary on that.

My last summer

On my last vacation I traveled around South America doing my thesis project for the University. My first country was Brazil and there I stayed at a friend´s house in Rio.  After that, I traveled to different places for almost one month and then I took a ship along Madero River and Amazon River to Manaus. When I arrived to the North of Brazil, I went to Boa Vista to take a bus to Venezuela. There I was two weeks and a half only reporting about the protest. It was a little bit hard and I finished really tired, that’s why, after that, I went to Colombia to have a good times. The food was amazing and the people were lovely with me. They were really kind and nice people. There I reported about the changes with the cocaine and the guerrilla´s topic. But that don’t was the last country in my trip.
