I think that the more important thing that Chimmanda
Adichie, Nigerian writer, says in her
speech called “The dangers of a single story” is the idea that when you only
see, listen or read one side story, only
one vision of something, probably you never know the real story. And sometimes
it´s the same in the news in Chile because only a few people have all the
control over news and over the things that we can see in the television. For
example, the news in Chile, in general
for me, is like that “single history”, the dangers of a single story that Adichie
spoke about in her speech. And the worst, is almost always they want to show us
the bad side of the all stories. They show the pain, the misery, the dead. I
think that in all my life I never saw a News´s program presenting only good
things, with different edges of the same topic. We, like journalists, must be
aware that there is always more than one story in all the things.
It's important to know all the ways of a story because only with that you will know the real true of one fact, that why we must to be informed (:
ResponderEliminarI agree with you, because in the mass media only see the negative aspects of things
ResponderEliminaris very sad see how the news (television and newspapers) show us a single history...it makes people without ideas.

ResponderEliminarMy mother watches a lot of TV and this has become my mother in a paranoid woman.
Watching TV is synonymous with living in a constant depression.
